Hagstrom Super Swede Bass Natural Mahogany

Hagstrom's Super Swede is a bass guitar that was designed by ABBA bassist Rutger Gunnarsson. It's very similar to the model he used on the supergroup's last North American tour in 1980. At the time it was first produced, Hagstrom was enduring a strike at its factory and only 364 original models were made. Fortunately, the Super Swede is now back so that everyone can enjoy its great look and sound. It has the same design and components as the original model, but, these days, it's manufactured in Asia to help keep costs down making it more affordable to buy.

Super Swede Bass

The Super Swede has a neck-through design where the neck runs right through the body. This makes all of the frets easily accessible because there is no heel to get in the way. It also ensures excellent sustain which is further enhanced by the individual direct-mounted bridge saddles. The Super Swede has a scale length of 34 inches and the neck has a 15-inch radius and 20 medium jumbo frets. Any neck adjustments can be made using the special H-Expander truss rod.

Solid sound

The body and neck are both made of mahogany which ensure a solid sound with just the right amount of definition. The fretboard is made of Hagstrom's own Resinator material which produces a similar sound to ebony, but is even more stable than wood. Two Hagstrom Design J-Quad pickups are responsible for delivering the sound to your amp and do so across the whole tonal spectrum with a slight emphasis on the low and mid tones.
